Hormones and Their
Anti-Aging Contributions
When you start to grow older, several changes take place in your body - and these changes often work as a chain reaction. One change leads to another. These changes take place in both men and women and contribute to the aging process.
Men usually notice these changes first when they begin to experience lower levels of the testosterone hormone. Their sex drive is off, they don’t feel the same physically and emotionally and they may begin to see baldness occur.
Women lose estrogen, but they also lose DHEA. This hormone is found in the adrenals and is doled out to different hormones within the body. DHEA works as a control tower to help other hormones do what they’re supposed to do.
Without enough DHEA, your metabolism gets wacky and you end up not being able to burn fat the way you used to - which in turn leads to weight gain. DHEA can keep aging moving at a slower rate - and having enough of this hormone helps stabilize muscles and fight against bone density loss. It gives energy and improves sex drive.
With the lessening of certain hormones, your body just simply doesn’t function the way it should and the aging process kicks in. As these levels of hormones drop, you lose the benefit that hormones give the body.
You have to have testosterone and estrogen in your battle against aging, but there’s another hormone you need, too. As you get older, you begin to have lower levels of the human growth hormone (or HGH).
Not having enough HGH robs the body of energy and weakens muscles. Without enough of this hormone, the skin will sag and bag and wrinkles and lines multiply. You begin to develop bone and joint problems and can experience problems with your heart.
You have to have the proper hormones in order to prevent inflammations and serious health risks associated with aging. Taking hormones like HGH helps the skin hold on to its suppleness.
It prevents hair loss - and this hormone is also beneficial to the immune system. For men, HGH works to fight against erectile dysfunction. This hormone can increase energy and improve memory function.
Testosterone is needed for energy and slows the aging process. It’s also needed in order to keep muscles strong. Estrogen hormones keep the memory strong, fights against heart attacks and adds to longevity. It also prevents aging of the skin. Without enough estrogen, both hair and skin can begin to thin.
Another hormone with beneficial anti-aging properties is melatonin. This hormone has antioxidants that fight against aging. It protects against cell damage both inside and outside the body. Supplements containing these hormones can provide anti-aging benefits for you, but always check with your doctor before taking any type of supplement.

What to Look for in
Anti-Aging Skin Products
Everywhere you look, you’ll see products for the skin that offer to reverse the effects of aging and get rid of wrinkles. Aging skin and wrinkles are a problem for the face – but also for the neck and hands, too.
No one wants to pay the high cost of surgical procedures, not to mention go through the pain and time it takes to heal! Thankfully, there are solutions to aging that won’t involve a lot of cost - and are pain free.
Because there are so many products on the market for anti-aging, choosing the exact product that works best for your skin can be trial and error. But there is something you can watch for.
You can look for certain ingredients to make sure you’re getting products that are the best for your skin. Look for products that contain natural ingredients, including vitamins that help promote a healthy skin appearance.
You’ll see listings for elements like vitamin A. This is a vitamin that helps the skin’s moisture levels, and you need moisture so that your skin looks softer. If you notice that your skin is dry, one of the problems could be a lack of vitamin A in the skincare products you use.
Using vitamin A, can erase wrinkles and it even helps with skin eruptions like pimples. Use products that contain Vitamin B, too. This vitamin helps even out your skin tone and keeps your skin from looking old. You’ll see keywords in the ingredients like Retinol and this is just a configuration of the vitamin A.
Some anti-aging products will contain Coenzyme Q10. You have to have this for the cells in your body to work the way they’re supposed to. It contains antioxidants and works to repair the skin.
One of the things it does to help repair the skin is found in the making of collagen, which breaks down as we age. By working to help the skin make collagen, Coenzyme Q10 gets rid of wrinkles and makes skin look younger and suppler.
You’ll also want to read the ingredients list and look for kinetin. This comes from plants and is used to encourage growth and to help keep age related skin changes under control. It’s an antioxidant that works for your skin cells’ youth properties.
Plant extracts, especially the ones you’ll find in some teas, are natural boosters for your skin that fight against aging. You can buy a host of products that can help turn back time. Use products like anti-aging cleansers, moisturizers specifically targeted for anti-aging and creams that help prevent lines around the eyes.
Benefits of Using an
Anti-Aging Serum Treatment
The effects of growing older begin to show on the skin before you’re thirty years old. That’s why it’s important to start an anti-aging plan while you’re still young. Research in how to slow aging and roll back the clock against the ravages of time on your skin has been around for years.
Now studies are showing that there are treatments available to give you healthy, youthful skin in a matter of weeks. Liking the way your skin looks in the mirror will boost your self-esteem, too.
When you want your skin to look softer and to take years off of your appearance, you can use the same product for both - an anti-aging serum treatment. But soft skin and youthful appearance are just two of the benefits of using a serum. There are plenty more.
These serums contain vitamins and minerals that help with new cell growth. New cell growth gives your skin a vibrant look. Not only do you get a more vibrant look, but using serum also helps even out any uneven skin tone. So, your skin looks younger, and it feels younger, too.
Another benefit is that they help produce healthy skin cells because they’re giving cells the right nutrients. Anti-aging serum treatments also work to lessen creases formed on the face from frowning or smiling.
Another benefit to the products with anti-aging serums is that you’ll see how effective it is against getting rid of wrinkles and making unsightly crow’s feet disappear. What makes the serum work so well? There are ingredients in these serums that are known to fight aging because they hydrate your skin better.
When you’re searching for serum treatments, pay attention to the ingredients listed. You’re looking for one very important ingredient. The serum must contain vitamin C. There are other vitamins the serum should have too, but vitamin C is a vital ingredient because this is what delivers that youthfulness back to your skin.
It does this because vitamin C helps promote the growth of collagen. Collagen is what helps keep your skin from sagging and wrinkling, and it’s what helps your skin feel soft. You can buy anti-aging serums in a variety of strengths and method of application.
One anti-aging serum works to lighten up the skin, while another is made to be applied before you put on sunscreen or makeup. These serums keep your skin moisturized even below a layer of other skin products such as make-up or sunscreen. You can also buy a night cream that doubles as an anti-aging serum.
Anti-Aging Wrinkle Solutions
Growing older takes a toll on your skin. We lose collagen as we grow older and when that happens, the skin begins to sag and wrinkles develop. But aging isn’t the only reason skin starts to show wrinkles.
Even younger people can start to develop wrinkles if they don’t take care of their skin. You can get wrinkles as a result of the environment you live or work in (such as working outside) and what you eat can also affect your skin. Heredity factors also have a part in the wrinkling process.
Some things you can’t change when it comes to your skin, like hereditary issues, but wrinkling is something that you don’t have to live with regardless of your lifestyle or family health history. You want to do all you can to have healthy looking skin because when you look better, you feel better and have a more positive mental outlook.
Keep your skin healthier by doing all you can as a preventative - and that includes taking vitamins and eating plenty of healthy foods. But since those steps alone won’t prevent wrinkles, you’ll want a little extra help.
You’ll get this help by using products that stop wrinkles from occurring or reverses signs of aging. One of the easiest methods to use to fight wrinkles is an anti-aging cream. These creams have ingredients that restore the skin’s moisture level. They contain botanical ingredients and are rich in vitamins. They can be used as a stand-alone treatment or applied before you put on any makeup.
Anti-aging creams work by locking in moisture, preventing the skin from continuing to lose softness. The minerals and extracts work to soothe skin that’s been damaged by wrinkles. These products provide the nutrients that your skin has to have, but that most people don’t get.
Anti-aging lotion is similar to the creams you can buy. These work to get rid of the wrinkles and give your skin a healthy appearance. Many of these products will contain Retinol, which is an antioxidant - and like antioxidants in food, Retinol helps fight against cell damage.
Healthy skin cells result in healthier, younger looking skin.
Some wrinkles (like crow’s feet) are highly noticeable and stubborn to get rid of but using Botox erases even those stubborn wrinkles. You can have Botox injections done in a doctor’s office, but these are painful, inconvenient and expensive treatments.
You also have to continue having the injections, so the cost continues to grow. An alternative is to use a product containing Botox. You can find these products in cream or lotion form without the high cost of the injections.
